Re: Payet cause of drop in form.
PD - That's absolute nonsense.

As I say, you seem to be implying last season he was some kind of attacking god. He wasn't. I remember threads on here at the back end of the season saying he should be dropped, which suggests he was hardly on "another level". WHO memories seem to be very short indeed.

He's been our best attacking player this season, by some way. He is crucial to us getting out of the shit we are in.

Re: Payet cause of drop in form.
PD is spot on. Payet last season was absolutely on another level, no one could touch him. It's just simply not been the case this season.

Antonio has been better this season, IMO.

Re: Payet cause of drop in form.
Baggs - He is NOT playing at the same level as last season, end of story. In fact nowhere near it. I would suggest that YOU need a trip to specsavers if you really can't see that. No-one is saying he's playing shit, and no-one expects him to play like Maradona/messi/Ronald either. I don't get why you're offended by some stating which is all clear to see and not just on here, but across the board. Get over it.

Everyone is under performing this season.

Re: Payet cause of drop in form.
I think some of you are over estimating how he played last season and under playing this one.

As for the "magic has gone", do me a favour. He's already scored two outstanding free kicks, hit the underside of the bar with one against Arsenal (which led to a goal), created chances and decent situations for us in most games and scored one of the best goals I've ever seen against 'Boro that saved us from defeat.

I think some of you now expect him to be a combination of Messi, Ronaldo and Maradona. He isn't. He will have off days. Some of his ideas wont always come off. But fuck knows where the team woukd be right now without him.

He's our best player by a mile. If you can't see that, you must be blind.

I thought he was invisible up until he scored yesterday tbh.

Think yesterday went to show that when he gives a fuck, we are a decent team.

Re: Payet cause of drop in form.
Good to see a smile on his face for a change, a couple of weeks ago I honestly thought he must've already agreed a move to Man Utd, that's how disinterested he looked, especially against them.

Ronald

Yes, Payet did flunk a fair few passes.

And as Private Dancer says, the magic has gone so far this season.

However, his effort was much better and he scored. That's what making me so angry this season is that players are not giving 100 per cent.

There are rumours that Billic and Ayew fell out - is it any wonder watching that fucking lazy cunt stroll around Anfield yesterday or jog around like a pub footballer last weekend?

Re: Payet cause of drop in form.
Pickle - I can't be sure but I'd wager that the only think the pool golie will be thinking is that he fucked up and should have saved it, not about Payet's magic..

He's been nowhere near last seasons level, to argue that is basically laughable and being arguementative just for the sake of it.

Re "slide rule pass"

I don't know why people still use that term. A slide rule is a pain in the arse to use and most people under the age of 90 probably don't know what it is - let alone how to use it.

You have to move with the times. A "4G UHD digital precision" pass is surely more appropriate.

Pool golie?

Racist, talking about sturridge like that.

Don't think the 'pool golie will agree that "the magic has gone". But the bloke on WHO knows better.

Private Dancer 6:22 Mon Dec 12
Re: Payet cause of drop in form.
The magic has gone, currently just looks like a run of the mill PL player. He keeps on attempting these slide rule passes without enough weight on and giving the ball away, he would be torn to shreds playing for some managers doing that.

Saying that, he's still our best player and hope we soon see see him beating players for fun soon enough.

You're a special kind of stupid aren't you.

Re: Payet cause of drop in form.
Ronald - He was trying to go past the defender and score a goal.

You do realise this isn't FIFA and it's quite difficult? You can't just press X and O and score?

Re: Payet cause of drop in form.
I thought he worked harder today, actually closed the ball and defended at times which is good to see. Not sure about his fitness though and was a bit wasteful.

Good to see him score today. When he plays well then we play well.

Too many poor passes, not to mention the one on one he had with a defender towards the end where he meekly surrendered the ball.

nonsense, tracked back and put tackles and challenges in today. the team is not at it's creative best and that includes payet. but he did far better today.

Erm, I think you are defining his contribution over the whole game based on his goal.

Yes, it was a good goal, but aside from that he was pony.

Re: Payet cause of drop in form.
Played much better today - he can be happy with that shift.

Now he needs this EVERY game....
